Red Sox get last 2 games against the White Sox



Dustin Pedroia hit a two-run advantage in the seventh inning, Jason Varitek homered and Boston Red Sox 5-3 on Sunday to beat the Chicago White Sox to take two of three games in the series on the road.

Alfredo Aceves (7-1), who relieved starter Andrew Miller in the sixth, scored the victory with an episode on the mound.

The All-Star Paul Konerko White Sox left the game with a strained a calf being beaten by starter Andrew Miller in the end of the fourth inning. The X-rays were negative.

Starter Mark Buehrle pitched six innings and allowed five hits and two runs, both with Varitek's homer in the second inning. The left-hander left the game with a 3-2 lead.

For the Red Sox, Adrian Gonzalez 5-2 with an RBI. David Ortiz 5-1.

The White Sox, Alexei Ramirez 5-2 with an RBI. Alex Rios 5-1 with an RBI. Omar Vizquel 1-0.
